Driving Directions from the Miami International Airport:

Miami International Airport (MIA) is located 20 minutes from the hotel.  

From Miami International Airport: Follow overhead exit sign for Le Jeune Road South (NW 42nd Avenue) and Expressway S.R. 836. Travel South on Le Jeune Road for 0.75 miles towards SR 836. Immediately after going under the second overpass, turn right onto access ramp for Expressway 836 East and drive on it to the toll plaza. After the toll plaza, follow overhead sign for I-395 East/Miami Beach. Continue on I-395 East to the Mac Arthur Causeway US - 41E (same roadway; name changes at water's edge). Stay on Mac Arthur Causeway - this will bring you across the bay to the final causeway bridge. Using the right lane on this bridge, stay strait on US - 41E which becomes 5th street.  Continue until you reach Ocean Drive and take a left.  The Avalon Hotel will be approximately 0.2 miles up the road on the left.

Driving Directions from the Fort Lauderdale / Hollywood Airport:

The Fourt Lauderdale / Hollywood International Airport (FLL) is located 45 minutes from the hotel.

From Fort Lauderdale Airport: Exit airport and follow signs to I-95 South towards Miami. Take I-95 South towards Miami.  Take Exit #2D to I-395 East/ Miami Beach. I-195.  Continue on I-395 East to the Mac Arthur Causeway (same roadway; name changes at water's edge). Stay on Mac Arthur Causeway - this will bring you across the bay to the final causeway bridge. Using the right lane on this bridge, stay strait on US - 41E which becomes 5th street.  Continue until you reach Ocean Drive and take a left.  The Avalon Hotel will be approximately 0.2 miles up the road on the left.

Driving Directions from Points North:

Palm Beach/Ft. Lauderdale: Take I-95 South towards Miami. Take Exit #2D to I-395 East/ Miami Beach. Driving Directions from Points South:

Key West/Florida Keys/Homestead: Take US-1 all the way to I-95 North. Proceed on I-95 North for a short distance to I-395 East/Miami Beach. Continue on I-395 East to the Mac Arthur Causeway (same roadway; name changes at water's edge). Stay on Mac Arthur Causeway - this will bring you across the bay to the final causeway bridge. Driving Directions from West Florida:

Naples/Tampa: Take I-75 South/West towards Miami until the junction with Palmetto Expressway South (S.R. 826) Avoid getting off onto the Turnpike before that. Proceed on the Palmetto Expressway South (S.R. 826) to Dolphin Expressway East (S.R. 836). Take S.R. 836 past the airport and toll plaza to I-395/Miami Beach. Continue on I-395 East to the Mac Arthur Causeway (same roadway; name changes at water's edge). Stay on Mac Arthur Causeway - this will bring you across the bay to the final causeway bridge. Using the right lane on this bridge, stay strait on US - 41E which becomes 5th street.  Continue until you reach Ocean Drive and take a left.  The Avalon Hotel will be approximately 0.2 miles up the road on the left.

Valet Parking:

Valet parking is available at the hotel for $27.00 per a day with in/out privileges. (Please not large SUV's, pick up trucks and 15 passenger vans will be charged double.  All vehicles must meet the height and width requirements.) All costs will be billed to your hotel account and reservations are not necessary.

Another option is the city parking garage one block from the hotel.  The city parking garage is open 24 hours / prices may vary.

Public Transportation:

Taxis are available at the airport in the lower lever near the baggage pickup.  The average cost is $37.00 (flat rate) from the Miami International Airport.  The average cost from the Fort Lauderdale Airport is $75.00.

Shuttle service can be found in the lowerlever near the baggage pickup.  The average cost one way is $20.00 per person from the Miami International Airport. Supershuttle provides a shared-ride van service to and from the airport.  Go Airport Shuttle provides a shared ride van to and from the Fort Lauderdale Airport.   The average cost one way is $25.00 per person from the Fort Lauderdale Airport. Please account for enough time as the van makes frequent stops.

Buses operate from 5 AM to midnight and cost $2.00 one-way. Please be advised that bus service runs infrequently and is considered slow compared to taxis and cars, which are the recommended ways to travel.
